バンクーバーに本校を構えるKGICのハリファックスキャンパス。ダウンタウンに校舎があり、ショッピングやエンターテイメントも身近のロケーションです。

学校特徴

一般英語のコースは、全体で7段階のレベルがあります。文法、リーディング＆ライティング、リスニング、コミュニケーション＆発音の4科目をバランスよく総合的に学習し、各科目でレベルが分かれているため、得意分野も不得意分野もそれぞれ自分に合ったレベルで学べるのが特徴です。

上級レベルになると、スピーキング力向上にフォーカスを当てた8週間のパワースピーキングやTESOLを受講することができます。TESOLは、英語講師になるための12週間のコースで、8週間の講義のあと、4週間の実習を受けることができます。
どちらもバンクーバーキャンパスでも人気のコースです。

金曜日の午後は授業がなく、学校全体で催されるアクティビティに参加します。
月曜日から木曜日の夕方には、無料で受講できるクラスがあり、少しでも多く英語に触れる時間を持ちたい人に人気があります。レベルによって、スピーキングやライティングに特化したクラス、ビジネス英語、大学進学準備クラスなどがあります。

アクティビティ

金曜日の午後はアクティビティの時間です。カナダについてのトリビアゲームやボーリング、ハリファックスの歴史的な場所の探索やアイスホッケーについてなど、カナダの文化に触れられるアクティビティに参加することができます。

I would like to extend a warm welcome to anyone considering coming to study English at KGIC Halifax. I have been in ESL for years in different locations in Canada and around the world and I can tell you without hesitation that this is a great destination for language learning. We are a small campus, so you will feel well looked after while you are here. It is a small city which is easy to navigate and the community is supportive and welcoming to visitors. Since we opened in February 2010, I have really been amazed by the speed of language development that I see in our students and truly impressed by the adventures and accomplishments that they have outside of school.

Compared to many of your cities, Halifax will be quiet to you, but you will hopefully enjoy the peacefulness and adjust your emphasis to meeting people and improving your English rather than on getting somewhere quickly. I recommend that if you are able to come here for your language adventure, try to get your international driver’s license. There are so many beautiful places to visit, and driving is more convenient than buses between towns.
